Star Citizen Guide to Control Your Ship

Star Citizen is a PC game that is being developed by Cloud Imperium Games. Star Citizen was funded through crowd funding. As of 2014 it is still in the alpha phase of game development.

Getting Started

Before you jump into the cockpit of one of the three ships available in Arena Commander, the second module released for the game, you will need a helmet. Helmets typically spawn to the player’s left in the hangar. The helmet also provides user interface data while flying, so it is essential for all pilots.

Once you have the helmet, approach one of the three available ships and follow the on-screen directions to jump inside.

Using a game controller or a mouse and keyboard to control your ship is far easier than attempting to use a joystick. If you have a joystick and decide to use it, you will need to create and load an XML file that will map your hardware’s keybindings.

Assuming you decide to use a mouse and keyboard, ship movement is a matter of using the QWEASD keys and the mouse. The default setting for the mouse moves the ship’s reticle in any direction the mouse-pointer travels, which will turn the ship in any direction desired. The W key is your forward thruster, and the S key is the backward thruster. The A and D keys will roll your ship left and right, respectively. Q will force your ship to strafe left, and E will strafe it to the right.

To start moving, press the W key and tilt your mouse in any direction you want. You will notice that you will only fly forward, but that inertia will propel you a little bit off course if you make sharp direction changes. To correct the inertia, you will need to use your strafe keys while turning, which will counteract the inertia, or slow down before making sudden shifts in movement.

After you have mastered the basics of movement you should spend some time learning what all the words and numbers mean in the HUD. You will notice a reticle in the center panel of your ship. The reticle represents the direction you are moving. Meanwhile, a second reticle, made from a circle and a triangular shape on the bottom, represents the direction you are moving away from. Lastly, thruster information is also represented on the center panel beside the first reticle.

Elder Scrolls Online Issues Fixable?

So what are the main grievances that exist within The Elder Scrolls Online? Obviously at launch, the game was laden with bugs and glitches. There were insufferably long loading times, in and out of battles and multiple crashes. There were even broken quests and duping glitches. But generally, ZeniMax Studios couldn’t make their version of the world of Tamriel live up to the name that Bethesda established for the franchise.

The title was laden with cash grabs. Horses were extremely expensive if purchased with in-game money. Therefore, it appeared to be a ploy for players. Rather than doubling the amount of time it takes to wander around this world on foot, gamers would be enticed to purchase a horse rather than grind away for hours to pay for one.

Now, this being said. Over a year, we’ve seen ZeniMax alter their stance on ESO. A lot of these issues have been fixed. With the game going free to play, 15 dollars a month can be saved for content within the world, or, you know, another game! The title will naturally retain this format for the PS4 and Xbox One. So now that Elder Scrolls Online doesn’t seem to be grabbing for your money, could we see a fairer title arrive on Current Gen consoles?

Grouping is still a serious issue in ESO, though granted their have been improvements over the years. Realistically, we should be able to receive a relatively glitch-free world on the Xbox One and PS4. But if you’re looking for the ultimate MMO that you can play with friends, Elder Scrolls Online is still not that game.

That being said, for those that haven’t played the MMO, there is certainly some worth in trying it out. A decent story, some great music, hours of quests (though a lot of them can be pretty boring). But in long term…I really can see this game fading away very slowly. What about you guys? Do you like ESO? What problems would you like to see fixed on Xbox One and PS4 and will you be picking it up a second time? Let us know in the comments!

ESO Console Versions to be Released in June

The ‘Elder Scrolls Online’ celebrated its one year anniversary last April 4, and publisher Bethesda Softworks marked the occasion by posting a community tribute video on their official blog. The eleven-minute long video contains a compilation of various fans sharing their messages of support to the developers and the community as thanks for ESO.

The massive multiplayer online game has undergone huge changes since its debut last year. Earlier this year, the game’s active subscription model was changed to no longer be necessary. ESO instead has chosen to employ a different revenue model, where instead of buying game time, players have the option of buying additional content via DLCs, or accessing new customization options. Players still have the option of paying a monthly fee to receive free access to the DLCs and a monthly stipend at the Crown Store, where the customizations can be purchased.

Elder Scrolls Online

While some fans are still happy with the game, ESO has received its fair share of criticism which partially explains the move to the free-to-play model. Issues have ranged from numerous in-game bugs to its polarizing phasing system, which made group questing unwieldy.

With ESO not receiving the universal praise that past Elder Scrolls games have enjoyed, there is now greater fan anticipation for a follow-up to the massively popular ‘Skyrim’ in the form of ‘Elder Scrolls VI’. While the game still has not been officially announced, rumors online suggest that ‘Bethesda’ could potentially announce it this year at the E3 convention.

For now, however, Bethesda seems content to continue supporting ESO. Console versions of ESO will be made available to the PS4 and the Xbox One consoles on June 9 later this year. The active subscription requirement will also be waived for console users. Following the console release of ESO, more news regarding future projects such as ‘ES6’ should be more forthcoming.

Maplestory 2 Release Dates Prediction

MapleStory 2 was disclosed in Nov 2013, and its alpha test happened on Sep 17th, 2014, its beta test happened on Jan 21st, 2015, and its final test will start from May 1st, 2015 which will last for 10 days.

Maplestory 2 is the upcoming 3D sequel to Nexon’s hugely successful 2D MMO, Maplestory. Set before the original, Maplestory 2 offers players a fresh take on an old favorite with a cute, blocky graphic style that manages to capture some of the original MMO’s charm, while switching between isometric and the classic 2D view.

Using this new art-style, Maplestory 2 gives players the opportunity to explore a multitude of colorful environments, with plenty of chances to discover hidden areas and special events. Environemnts are somewhat destructible, with players able to cut down trees and knock over blocks. They may even use objects from the environment in combat. Speaking of combat, Maplestory 2 retains the original’s fast paced gameplay, with characters chaining together multiple abilities for great effect. Boss battles take up large areas of a map, which often times result in the boss destroying huge portions of their blocky surroundings.

Outside of combat, players can participate in a myriad of mini-games, including some built by other players. Using the in-game editor, players can even build special dungeons complete with a variety of monsters, traps, and triggered events to overcome.

Maplestory 2 features non-instanced housing, with players able to build their own houses block by block, while decorating it’s interior with special items. These items can range from chests to keep your extra gear, to mannequins which you can dress up with your favorite costume sets. Doing so gives players the ability to swap between these costumes while on the go.
